Deze middag zal gaan over het leven en werk van Thomas Merton, monnik en schrijver. Inleider van deze middag is <strong>Willy Eurlings<\/strong>. Hij vertaalde onlangs Jim Forests biografie van Thomas Merton:<em> Leven met wijsheid<\/em>. Centraal staan in de lezing de manier waarop Merton aankeek tegen geloven en religie en zijn zoektocht naar waar het in religie en in ons leven om gaat. Ook zullen Mertons interesse in interreligieuze dialoog, zijn inzet voor vrede en zijn sociaal engagement ter sprake komen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Inleider<br \/>\n<\/strong>Willy Eurlings (Heerlen, 1952) is voorzitter van de Mertonvrienden, een Vlaams-Nederlands genootschap dat zich ten doel stelt om Mertons werk in ons taalgebied onder de aandacht te brengen.
